Overview

St. Joseph’s General Hospital is owned by the Bishop of Victoria, A Corporation sole and is directed locally by a Board of Directors comprised of Comox Valley residents.

Within the Province of British Columbia’s health insurance system, and by an Affiliation Agreement with the Vancouver Island Health Authority, St. Joseph’s General Hospital’s mandate is to provide acute, complex care, residential and ambulatory health services to meet the present and future needs of the communities which it serves.

The Hospital’s approach is to conduct such services in a Christian value based atmosphere of “Care With Compassion” in the Catholic tradition of the Healing Ministry.

Description: Senior Community that comprise of Independent Living Buildings, Supportive Living & Residential Care besides an amenity building in the heart of Chilliwack at Garrison Crossing. Currently, the first Independent Living building is under construction.
Land Area: 8.5 Acre

Overview

The Elim Housing (Chilliwack) Society was formed in September 2014. The Society’s goal was to pursue the development of a Christian retirement village that could practically serve the faith communities in the upper Fraser Valley area. The Society has since purchased an 8.6 acre parcel of land in the Garrison Crossing area of Chilliwack and a comprehensive site plan that encompasses Elim Village’s campus of care model is being developed.

Currently, the beginning stages of construction for “The Sequoia” is underway. This is the first of four Independent Living buildings for seniors who are 60 years or older. The ground breaking of the 60 unit, four storey building began in early September of this year with an anticipated completion date of February 2018.
